AS IF visiting Tower Bridge isn’t exciting enough, junior
visitors can squeeze even more fun out of a trip to “The Most
Famous Bridge in the World” this summer with the brand new
multilingual Guy Fox Tower Bridge Passport which comes free with
every child ticket.
Launching on 19 July 2010, the sticker-based educational tool
for children will provide young visitors with an absorbing activity
as they make their way around the Tower Bridge Exhibition. It will
also provide teachers and parents with a structure to help them
focus on the most interesting and important aspects of the Bridge
in a way that is sure to engage attention.
The Guy Fox History Project is an educational charity that
creates innovative activities and publications to encourage
children to explore the world around them.
“There is so much to see and learn about at Tower Bridge but for
children, it can be a lot to take in,” said Tower Bridge marketing
manager Chris Earlie. “We wanted to offer our younger visitors and
their accompanying adults something extra to help them make the
most of their visit so as experts in making history fun, we knew
that Guy Fox would come up with a great
idea.”
Visitors will collect their passport in the ticket office and
then follow the clearly marked trail as they make their way through
the high level Walkways, Engine Rooms and Gift Shop, gathering
stickers as they go. By the time they reach the end of their visit
in the Gift Shop they will have been able to complete the panorama
illustration of the Bridge and take it home with them to remind
themselves about the interesting facts and figures they have
discovered.
The Passport is available in seven languages - English, French,
German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish and Japanese - and is printed on
recycled materials.
Admission prices for Tower Bridge are adults £7, concessions £5,
child £3. Joint tickets for admission to Tower Bridge ad the
beautifully restored Monument nearby are available at £8, £5.50 and
£3.30.
